1. Take their concerns seriously.
When you're in charge of a company, it's your job to address any issues that arise. If your employees come to you with concerns about the workplace, it's important that you take their complaints seriously. Even if you can't resolve the situation to their satisfaction, you can take the time to explain why. Employees work harder when they feel that their managers actually care about their well-being.
2. Set high but reachable expectations.
As the supervisor, it's your job to set the tone of your office's culture. You can create an atmosphere of high achievement and personal excellence by holding your employees to high standards. No one likes to be underestimated; employees can tell when their bosses don't believe in them. Take notice of your employees' skills and set them tasks that utilize their strengths.
